Prior to, Robertson played an instrumental role in making Avatar Properties (nasdaq: “avtr”) one of the largest integrated residential and commercial real estate development organizations in Florida . As Vice President of Commercial Development for Avatar, Robertson is focused on providing clear strategic vision and determined leadership to expand Avatar's commercial efforts in Florida and enter key growth markets throughout Florida and the Southeast. Before joining Avatar, Robertson was Vice President of Development for KSL Hotel Corp., a subsidiary of KKR (Kohlberg, Kravis & Roberts), which owns the Doral Golf Resort & Spa, PGA West, LaQuinta, Grand Traverse, and KSL Fairways. At KSL, he was responsible for real estate development, master planning, the development of time-share opportunities, the acquisition of new courses. Robertson, a native of California , started his real estate career with Turnberry Associates, developers of Turnberry Isle Resort, featuring two Robert Trent Jones, Sr. golf courses. While at Turnberry, he led a variety of commercial and mixed-use developments in the Miami metropolitan area, including the expansion of the Aventura Mall, a two million square foot regional shopping center, the Grand, a 810-unit condominium and several other retail and residential projects. Robertson holds a bachelor of architecture degree from the University of Miami , and has been featured as a speaker at NAHB (National Association of Home Builders) and Urban Land Institute conferences. He is also an active member of professional real estate organizations and serves on the Board of Directors for the Builders Association of South Florida.
